Digital Design
Since starting university, I have dedicated many hours into learning how to use CAD software, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Clo- 3D, and Ethos (for both embroidery and laser cutting.) Having had no experience of digital designing prior to my course, getting to grips with the technology was a challenge, but my determination to learn these vital skills pushed me to stick with it and I now feel highly confident in my CAD skills. In my Digital Designing for Fashion and Textiles module, I developed my own print collection using photoshop, and using illustrator I learnt how to draw garment flats and fashion illustrations. Since then, I have continued to practice using this software, most recently to develop 5 portfolio pages to showcase my work in my module: Fashion Futures: Research and Experiment. I love to use Photoshop and Illustrator in conjunction with each other, to play around with clipping masks, removing backgrounds, image tracing, opacity, and much more, to create varied and visually exciting pages.
